Artificial House Plants
If you have decided that you want to accentuate your home
with plants, you have at least a couple of directions you can go with.
Number one, you can buy fake house plants, or number two, you can use
real plants.
While there are several criteria that go into making a decision like
this, one of the main things that you may want to consider is if you
have the energy and the right materials available to make sure your
plants will thrive if you have real plants.
The following paragraphs will document some of the environmental factors
that go into making sure that your house plants will survive.
• Light – Light is probably the most important
factor relating to house plant growth. There are specifically three
aspects of light that should be considered when trying to figure out
if you’d be better off with a live plant or artificial house plants.
These three factors are: Intensity, duration, and quality.
• Water – There is no concrete answer to
the question of how much you should water. However, you can do some
things to help ensure that they have a better chance of getting what
they need. When you test for watering, pay careful attention to the
soil. If your finger can’t penetrate into the soil at least two
inches deep, you probably will need a more porous soil mix.
• Temperature – Most plants need to stay
at a temperature between 60 and 68 degrees. While this temperature can
drop below or above this point for small amounts of time, if it drops
or rises for too long it can seriously damage your plants. If this temperature
is difficult to maintain in your home, you may be better off purchasing
fake plants instead.
Artificial house plants do not need to have any of the aforementioned
conditions around them. It is for this purpose that many people choose
these types of plants instead of real plants.
